CITY OF NORMAN, OK ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL ADVISORY BOARD MEETING Development Center, Conference Room B, 225 N. Webster Avenue, Norman, OK 73069 Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 5:30 PM MINUTES The Environmental Control Advisory Board of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, will meet in Regular Session in the Utilities Conference Room at the Development Center, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 5:30 PM and notice of the agenda of the meeting was posted at the Norman Municipal Building at 201 West Gray, Development center at 225 N. Webster, and on the City website at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. ROLL CALL 1. PRESENT Board member Deborah Cretsinger Board member Lainey Phillips Board member Nathalie Rocher Board member Debbie Smith Board Member Eileen Grzybowski Board Member Todd Howery ABSENT Board member Inger Giuffrida Board member Bob Nairn Board member Sara Bondy INTRODUCE NEW MEMBERS, GUESTS & STAFF Jerry Gates, Environmental Services Assistant Manager Michele Loudenback, Environmental & Sustainability Manager ANNOUNCEMENTS Yard by Yard has exploded and Cretsinger is helping them certify yards because they have become overwhelmed with the number of submissions. They are hoping that someone in the group would be willing to work with Yard by Yard on a curriculum committee for education purposes for the schools. Members will email their interest over to Loudenback and she will send it to Cretsinger. MINUTES 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE JANUARY 15, 2025 MEETING Motion to approve January's meeting minutes made by Board member Smith, Seconded by Board Member Grzybowski. WATERS WORTH IT POSTER CONTEST JUDGING AND DISCUSSION They will have to wait till next year to display the artwork on Main Street here in Norman. All other suggestions, they felt, would get the same exposure as City Hall so they will just display them in City Hall as usual. Board reviewed all submissions and voted. 4. DISCUSSION OF GREENHOUSE GAS SOFTWARE The company did not have references to share and asked what things they wanted to know more about. The questions that were sent over were not answered so they did not feel confident to move forward with them at this time. They will continue to seek out other options for the future. ACTION ITEMS 5. DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL OF DISTRIBUTION AND/OR ALLOCATIONS FOR THE FY 26 BUDGET Tabled 6. DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL OF THE NOMINEE FOR THE JAMES O. HARP AWARD Members discussed the nominee, Students for Solar group from Irving Middle School. Motion made to nominate Students for Solar, Irving Middle School by Board member Cretsinger, Seconded by Board member Rocher. Voting Yea: Board member Cretsinger, Board member Phillips, Board member Rocher, Board member Smith, Board Member Grzybowski, Board Member Howery MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTS The AP Environmental Science High School class has submitted some videos and are doing pretty well. They were unable to get ahold of someone at the Water Reclamation Facility and Loudenback let her know that they will get them to the Facility if they have the time, just let her know and they will make it happen.
