MINUTES
It is the policy of the City of Norman that no person or groups of persons shall on the grounds of
race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, place of birth, sex, sexual orientation, gender
identity or expression, familial status, marital status, including marriage to a person of the same
sex, disability, relation, or genetic information, be excluded from participation in, be denied the
benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination in employment activities or in all programs,
services, or activities administered by the City, its recipients, sub-recipients, and contractors. In
the event of any comments, complaints, modifications, accommodations, alternative formats,
and auxiliary aids and services regarding accessibility or inclusion, please contact the ADA
Technician at 405-366-5446, Relay Service: 711. To better serve you, five (5) business days'
advance notice is preferred.

Strong Towns Approach and Core Insights
~Reminder that Strong Towns is sharing content every 2-3 weeks on the
~Strong Towns Ad-Hoc Committee members have identified five areas of focus they would
like to address through the Norman Community Action Lab. Discussion on this progress:

~Codes and Process Review
~Barriers to Medium Density Housing
~Review Resources in the Community Action Lab

Presentation & Q&A
Since February, the Local Action Team and other community members in Norman have been
working diligently to develop solutions that address the needs of the community.
In addition to the topics shared through the Norman Community Action Lab, the Strong Towns
team will discuss transportation focused issues such as the design process used for
transportation planning, how engineers and citizens differ when prioritizing various
transportation values, and bottom-up techniques for spending less while getting higher returns
in transportation investments.

This event is an opportunity to discuss issues that are important to the Norman Community
with neighbors.

~9 - 10:30 AM: City Council & Planning Commission Meeting
~10:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Chamber Representatives & Social Service Providers Meeting
~12:00 - 1:30 PM: Action Team Debrief
Edward Eufart discussed how sales tax distorts how we see development patterns.
Edward Eufart also discussed that ADUs are the next smallest step for Norman
because they don’t always have to change the house size and can be attached or un-
attached.
This meeting was adjourned at 10:40am.
Norman City Council and the Planning Commission will be invited to attend the meetings. These
are not regular meetings of the City Council or Planning Commission; however, this notice is
