Minutes of
August 10, 2020
The Social and Voluntary Services Commission of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State
of Oklahoma, met for the Regular Meeting on this date at 5:30 p.m. Notice and Agenda of the
meeting were posted at 201 W Gray Building A, the Norman Municipal Building, and at
www.Normanok.gov twenty-four hours prior to the beginning of the meeting.
Lisa Krieg called the meeting to order at 5:37 p.m.
ITEM NO. 1 BEING: Roll Call

ITEM NO. 2, BEING: Approval of the minutes from the June 22, 2020 meeting.
Motion by Heidi Smith for approval of the minutes as submitted; Second by Ann Way. All
approve.
ITEM NO. 3, BEING: Discussion regarding Applications for Funding received and any
additional information requested from applicants
Food and Shelter – Will there be an additional monthly charge if they expand their wifi?
Their ask is $10,000, but their project budget totals $9,358.
Mary Abbott House – How many children do they anticipate needing this program? Have
they thought about working with CASA?
Among Friends – The budget percentages did not add up to 100%. Can they work on
diversifying their funding stream to include state and federal monies?
Big Brothers/Big Sisters – Do most of the littles have the devices and internet for
accessibility?

Bridges – Double check that the Admin percentage is 45%. Also, ask for complete board
member information.
CAB – Do they have current financials?
Catholic Charities – What is the 34% from other income?
CSBI – Clarify the money is for the roofing project
Envision – Needs a project budget breakdown. What is VIPP? What are the hours and
number of participants?
Salvation Army – They don’t have to file a 990?
Transition House – Ask for more information about training, and the budget breakdown.
Why do they need a therapy platform?
Virtue Center – The percentages did not add up to 100%. Have they applied for tribal
funding?
Aging Services – There was some confusion over their math.
Bethesda – Why don’t they bill insurance?
