CITY OF NORMAN, OK SOCIAL AND VOLUNTARY SERVICES COMMISSION MEETING Development Center, Conference Room B, 225 N. Webster Avenue, Norman, OK 73069 Monday, June 29, 2026 at 5:30 PM MINUTES The Social and Voluntary Services Commission of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, met in Regular Session in Conference Room B at the Development Center, on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 5:30 PM and notice of the agenda of the meeting was posted at the Norman Municipal Building at 201 West Gray, Development Center at 225 N. Webster, and on the City website at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL, ACCEPTANCE, REJECTION, AMENDMENT, AND/OR POSTPONEMENT OF THE MINUTES FROM JUNE 15, 2026. Motion by Scott Meier to approve the minutes, as submitted; Second by Marc Bonge. All approve. ACTION ITEMS 2. CONSIDERATION OF FUNDING ALLOCATIONS FOR FYE27 SOCIAL & VOLUNTARY SERVICE GRANTS. Staff presented a compilation of the FY2027 funding recommendations submitted by SOCIAL AND VOLUNTARY SERVICES COMMISSION MEETING - Monday, June 29, 2026 Page |1 each Commissioner. The Commission used the compiled recommendations as a starting point for funding deliberations. The Commission reviewed agencies with significant differences in recommended funding amounts and finalized award recommendations based on application information, organizational capacity, responsiveness to requests for additional information, financial need, and availability for other funding sources. Funding recommendations were adjusted throughout the meeting to ensure the total remained within the Commission’s allocated budget. During deliberations, the Commission also discussed several aspects of the grant process, including the value of providing additional guidance to first-time applicants, encouraging stronger grant applications, and considering the inclusion of prior funding history in future application cycles.
