TREE BOARD February 6, 2017 The Tree Board of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, met in the Study Session Room on the 6th day of February 2017 at 4:00 P.M. ITEM 1, being: ROLL CALL Present: Chairman Menzie and members Fagin, Huffman, Janaway, and Spain ( one position vacant) Absent: Members Grisso, Vanlandingham and Winegardner City Officials Present: Sherrel Sheriff, Admin Tech IV ITEM 2, being: APPROVAL OF THE DECEMBER 5, 2016 MEETING MINUTES Member Fagin made the motion and Member Huffman seconded to approve the minutes. The vote was taken with the following results: YEAH: Chairman Menzie and members Fagin, Huffman, Janaway, and Spain NAY: None ITEM 3, being: APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Member Huffman made the motion and Member Fagin seconded to approve the agenda. The vote was taken with the following results: YEAH: Chairman Menzie and members Fagin, Huffman, Janaway, and Spain NAY: None Tree Board Page 2 of 2 February 6, 2017 ITEM 4, being: SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS Chairman Menzie reported on the Tree Story Contest – he and Mother Nature (Mariah) visited the class at Lincoln Elementary School and presented the awards to the winners. They were all from one class. They hope to expand participation next year by visiting with school principals, PTA’s and press release. The 2nd Friday Art Walk – will continue participation possibly in March – waiting for warmer weather. No Tree Tip for February ITEM 5, being: EARTH DAY Earth Day will be held on April 23rd at Reaves Park. The Tree Board will have a booth. Member Huffman agreed to be the chair for the booth and will check on available supplies. Chairman Menzie stated the Tree Wizard will have their own booth again this year. ITEM 6, being: MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTS Members commented on participation in the Christmas Parade and said it went well. Plans are to participate again next year. Members asked about the Tree City Recognition Banquet. Sherrel Sheriff stated she would check on the date and get back with the board members. ITEM 9, being: ADJOURNMENT Member Fagin made the motion and Member Spain seconded to adjourn.
