Call to Order and Approval of Agenda Vice Chair Schroeer opened the meeting at 7:00pm. II. Approval of Minutes 1. 18-323 Draft Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting Minutes for 04-19-2018 Attachments: 04-19-2018 ZBA Meeting Minutes A motion was made by Heisler, seconded by Swoboda, to approve the 04-19-2018 ZBA meeting minutes. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5- Vice Chair Schroeer, Heisler, Stuart, Buckheit and Swoboda III. New Business Items 2. ZBA Res. Variance Resolution - 507 S Water St 2018-002 Attachments: 1 - Resolution 2 - Location Map 3 - Site Plan 4 - North Side of Current Shed 5 - South Side of Current Shed Vice Chair Schroeer opened the public hearing at 7:02pm and read the opening proceedings. Tempel reviewed the staff report on the variance request for 507 Water St. S. Vice Chair Schroeer invited the applicant to speak and the ZBA members to ask any questions. Brian Ackerman - 806 Eastridge Dr. - new resident to Northfield, grew up in Faribault and Farmington, has done numerous repairs to the property, spoke to multiple neighboring property owners about the project, would like to update the building and create a usable City of Northfield Page 1 Printed on 8/24/2018 Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting Minutes - Final June 21, 2018 space for storage. Heisler asked about material standards for the building. Tempel stated the building will most likely be metal siding with a base, of neutral tones, has to meet the guidelines for C1 standards. Swoboda asked if this was the best use for this area or if there were other redevelopment options. Tempel stated the constraints of the lot would make construction difficult. A motion was made by Buckheit, seconded by Stuart, to close the public hearing at 7:18pm. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5- Vice Chair Schroeer, Heisler, Stuart, Buckheit and Swoboda A motion was made by Buckheit, seconded by Stuart, to approve ZBA Resolution 2018-002 allowing a one foot setback on the rear and side property lines at 507 Water Street South. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5- Vice Chair Schroeer, Heisler, Stuart, Buckheit and Swoboda IV.
