CITY OF NORWALK OAK HILLS PARK AUTHORITY REGULAR MEETING MINUTES JULY 16, 2026 VIA ZOOM VIRTUAL CONFERNCE ATTENDANCE: Richard Dellinger, Charles Brennan, Matthew Crorey, Gary Leeds, Jane McWilliams, Mary Verel, Geoffrey Sweitzer, Robert Stowers STAFF & OTHERS: Jim Hollyday (General Manager), Jim Schell (Superintendent), John Lloyd (Restaurant), Nick Novak (Golf Professional), Jerry Crowley (Supporters of Oak Hills Park), Alan Dutton (former Chair) & Mark Gartner (Controller). I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Vice Chair Richard Dellinger. II. ROLL CALL Roll call was conducted. All members noted above were present. New members Charles Brennan, Matthew Crorey, and Jane McWilliams were welcomed and introduced. III. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES A. Regular Meeting: June 18, 2026 Vice Chair Richard Dellinger noted one correction: add “Supporters of Oak Hills Park” after Jerry Crowley’s name for consistency. No other corrections were offered. Only three voting members were eligible (Richard Dellinger, Gary Leeds, Robert Stowers). **MEMBER GARY LEEDS MOVED TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE JUNE 18, 2026, REGULAR MEETING AS AMENDED. **MOTION PASSED (UNANIMOUS AMONG ELIGIBLE VOTERS).** IV. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION No members of the public were present to speak. Public Participation closed. V. REPORTS A. Vice Chair (Richard Dellinger) Welcomed new members Charles Brennan, Matthew Crorey, and Jane McWilliams and provided brief biographies. Thanked Jim Schell for his comprehensive drought management proposal submitted to the Second Taxing District in response to the ongoing water advisory. B. Restaurant (John Lloyd) Revenue slightly down compared to last year due to extreme heat (brownout affecting refrigeration and air conditioning) and heavy rain closing the course. Mahjong (Wednesdays) and Trivia (Thursdays) are popular. New fans and seating installed on the porch. Noted that the restaurant was closed for the Darien Men’s Association outing and no food and beverage order was placed. Requested consideration of later kitchen hours during summer and a policy change requiring outings to budget for food and beverage at the restaurant. C. Nature Advisory (Mary Verel) Report given by Mary Verel. D. Tennis Professional (Arlen Domoney) Report given by Jim Hollyday on behalf of Oak Hills Tennis E. Tennis Friends (Denise Brown) Report given by Jim Hollyday on behalf of the Tennis Friends of Oak Hills. F. Supporters of Oak Hills Park (Jerry Crowley) Report given by Jerry Crowley. G. Long Term Planning (Gary Leeds) Update on First Tee discussions and alternatives. A full presentation will be prepared for the August meeting to bring new members up to speed. H. Golf Professional (Nick Novak) Report given by Nick Novak. I. Superintendent (Jim Schell) Reported on course conditions and the water restriction response. J. Controller (Mark Gartner) Financial report given by Mark Gartner. K. General Manager (Jim Hollyday) Report given (details in recording). VII. NEW BUSINESS A. Vote on Executive Board Members Chairperson: **VICE CHAIR RICHARD DELLINGER WAS NOMINATED AND ELECTED CHAIRPERSON UNANIMOUSLY. Vice Chairperson: **MEMBER GARY LEEDS NOMINATED ANTHONY TRIMBOLI (TJ TRIMBOLI) FOR VICE CHAIRPERSON. **SECONDED BY MEMBER GEOFFREY SWEITZER. **MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. Treasurer: **VICE CHAIR RICHARD DELLINGER NOMINATED GARY LEEDS FOR TREASURER. **SECONDED BY MEMBER ROBERT STOWERS. **MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. B. GM Search Update (Alan Dutton) Alan Dutton reported that the search committee (Richard Dellinger, Alan Dutton, Jim Hollyday, Geoffrey Sweitzer, Jane McWilliams) has met. The position title will be “General Manager of Operations.” 315 applications have been received via Indeed. Jim Hollyday has indicated willingness to remain in a transitional capacity into September if needed. The committee will begin interviews toward the end of July / early August. VIII.
