Operations Committee: 1. Stadium Update: GS reports the following: a: Lights tested 7/29/13 & 7/30/13. Light level exceed what is required (see attached report). b: Bathroom Renovations Suite Level: GS reports that pre-bid will take place on 8/15/13 at 10:00 a.m. The pre-bid is a walk through for contractors so they may prepare their bids. GS reports that bids will be due 8/21/13 by 2:00 p.m. at City Hall.  2. Organizations Monthly Report: CK reports the backstop is completed. They are extremely pleased with the workmanship. In addition, CK reports that the clock is working. They had a great promotion centered on the clock. CK reports that All-Star Game was a tremendous success for the CT Tigers. He said approximate attendance was 4,700. Press Box: CK reports that they are waiting on a price from United Glass to replace the press box window which has a crack in it. There is some urgency to get it replaced because when it rains water leaks into the press box. GS stated he will contact United Glass re: getting the team a price to replace the window. The two lights that were out are aimed at home plate and at the center of the line between first and second. These will increase the 62.1 fc value behind home plate and the 64.8 and 65.5 fc values behind second and between first and second. with these values raised and the added light the average light level will increase from 82 fc to about 86 fe. The uniformity (maximin) will be lowered below the required 1.5 to 1. In the outfield we re-aimed a light from the spot that is now 93.5 fc to the area along the first base line that is 42.6 and 40.9 fc. I am not sure if the MLB tests include values outside the baselines. We also re-aimed the light that that produces the deep left field values of 84.2 and 84.7 fc. In fact the value between these two values was over 100 fc. That fixture was re-aimed to center field where the values are 35.2 and 41.9 fc. This will reduce the maximum value in the outfield to the 81.9 fc value in center field. The deep center field value of 35.2 will be raised by at least 8 to 10 fc to insure that the outfield max to min will exceed 2.0 to 1. I am also not sure that the deep center field points where we read the 35.2 and 41.9 are included in the MLB tests and since the two fixture we moved are still being aimed into the infield so the average value should not change. Based on these tests, and since the outfield has an average footcandle value that is 30% over the required value and the infield is only about 14 % over the required 75 fc value, I recommend that you relamp the 2000 watt A and B pole units sometime next year and then plan to relamp the outfield 1500 watt units in the spring of 2015 which will mean that they are done before the next MLB test. Please let me know if you have any questions about the test data, the changes we made or my recommendations about when you should relamp. Attached is the invoice for this work.
