DISC GOLF SUBCOMMITTEE A SUBCOMMITTEE OF THE MOHEGAN PARK IMPROVEMENT & DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Wednesday, May 8, 2019 – 6:30 P.M. Basement Conference Room 23 Union St. Norwich, CT Special Meeting DRAFT Minutes 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Subcommittee Chairman Kyle Seitz at 6:37pm. Present; Kyle Seitz, Beryl Fishbone, Rebecca Melucci, Corey Carlson, Josh Perry, Greg Winthrop, and Sam Browning Absent; Samantha Ventura 2. Official Correspondence: Kyle made arrangements with the city comptroller to receive a financial statement prior to subcommittee meetings. 3. Citizen Comments: None 4. Old business: a. Course Planning & Development i. Greg, Josh, and Kyle walked the Wilderness Road site and marked proposed tee and basket locations for 9 holes. ii. Kyle, Corey, and Josh discussed a walk-through of the site which was attended by Norwich Public Works Director, Pat McLaughlin. iii. Council members are still discussing a date to collectively walk the proposed course. b. Course Fundraising Update i. Members received copies of the solicitation forms and discussed fund raising strategies. ii. Kyle shared the current financial statement. To date, we have raised $1500.00 iii. Josh commented on the possibility of placing a monetary value on any building materials solicited. c. Community Outreach & Public Outreach i. Facebook and Instagram pages have been established to promote the course. ii. Members had a discussion about the many public events and festivals held in the city to promote the sport and course. iii. Corey continues to organize strategies to approach school officials and the rec department about the incorporation of the sport and course into youth activities and will provide any updates. 4. New Business: None 5. Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Sam Browning. Kyle seconded. The meeting adjourned at 6:59pm.
