Greeneville NRZ May 1, 2023 Greeneville Firehouse-444 North Main St., Norwich, Ct. Attendees: Peter Procko, Nancy Procko, Kathleen Strenkowski, Henry Fidrych, Thomas Yorz, Kim Langley, Maximus Baruch Bouilly, Judy Post Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Henry Fidrych, Second by Thomas Yorz to accept and approve the minutes of April 3, 2023. Old Business: Earth Day neighborhood clean up was a success. Close to one thousand pounds of small garbage collected. Greeneville Playground event May 20, 2023: Vote taken to eliminate vendors and food trucks at the event due to time constraints. Motion made by Judy Post. Second by Henry Fidrych. Meeting: Peter & Nancy Procko, Kevin Brown, Bobbi Braboy to meet May 3, 2023 regarding Greeneville Playground event. Updates: Confirmation by Norwich City Mayor that the Greeneville NRZ is a Neighborhood revitalization zone planning committee per public act 95-340. Facades: Businesses can apply for facade improvements: Business owners must provide a plan for improvements to the Norwich Communty Development Corp.Interested parties may contact Peter Procko or Greeneville NRZ. Flowers Planters: Peter & Nancy Procko met with Kevin Brown of the NCDC to discuss planters in front of businesses. Business owners will need to agree to maintain the watering/weeding/condition of the planter. Sign up sheet is available. New Business: New ideas for NRZ wish list for future improvements. Examples: repaint street diversity corners (paint fading), flags the length of Central Avenue, new street signs, sidewalk railing repair on North Main St., bus shelters. Bring ideas to future meetings. Haitian Heritage Month: Kickoff date May 5, 2023. Flyers being distributed.
