Greeneville NRZ September 11, 2023 Greeneville Fire House, 444 North Main St., Norwich, Ct. 6:06 p.m. Attendees: Peter Procko, Nancy Procko, Kathleen Strenkowski, Thomas Yorz, Henry Fidrych, Rev. Christopher Rogalski, Rene Gagnon, Gloria Riley, Officer Krodel Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Henry Fidrych, Second by Nancy Procko to accept and approve the minutes of June 5, 2023. Old Business: Expenditures paid out for the Greeneville Sparkle event. Appreciation dinner: Tabled this discussion to the October meeting. Event to be planned for the spring of 2024. Business facades: The city has money available. Businesses will need to present a plan to the city. Strategic Plan: Still under review. New Business: Nominations/Elections-Postponed to the October meeting. Blight: Areas of blight have been shared with City of Norwich blight officer. Peter and Nancy will continue to meet with the city mayor and the blight officer. Meeting with State NRZ Representative: Peter, Nancy and Kathy met with State NRZ Representative Bruce Wittchen on September 7, 2023 in Hartford. We introduced ourselves and provided background on the Greeneville NRZ, our accomplishments and vision for the future. Greeneville Neighborhood Committee organized a block party at the Greeneville playground. Drainage paintings: Areas around the street drains on Central Ave. have been decorated with paint. Wall around the basketball court at the playground to be painted. Sidewalks: Repair to sidewalks needed. Weeds covering some areas need to be removed. Greeneville Business List: Needs to be updated.
