Greeneville NRZ June 5, 2024 Greeneville Fire House, 444 North Main St., Norwich, Ct. Call to Order: 6:00 p.m. Guests: Nallely Chavez-City of Norwich Lead Program Community Liaison . Nallely spoke of the Lead Abatement Program and Rehabilitation Program available to Norwich residents. Tanice Doman-Zoning/Blight Assistant. Tanice provided information on blight available resources and bulky waste pickup. She presented examples of blight that negatively affect the overall quality of life. Joseph DeLucia-Norwich City Council member. Attendees: Committee members-Peter Procko, Nancy Procko, Kathleen Strenkowski, Henry Fidrych. Members of the community-Thomas Yorz, Bill Buchert, Goria Riley, Ella Chmielewski, John Williams, Stephanie Gwozdz. Old Business:Recovery meeting site-This is still under consideration. Planters-Flowers have been planted. Additional businesses have requested planters. Motion made by Nancy Procko and second by Thomas Yorz to provide additional planters. Motion voted on and passed. NRZ State Advisory Board Meeting Luncheon-Motion made by Henry Fidrych and second by John Williams to reimburse Nancy $300.00 for luncheon expenses. Motion voted on and passed Fire Hydrants-Two hydrants have been completed. Others are in progress. Motion made by John Williams and second by Thomas Yorz to have awards for hydrant painting presented at an ice cream social at the Greeneville Playground. Motion not voted on. The Greeneville Neighborhood Committee is handling the event in collaboration with the Greeneville NRZ. New Business: Flag Project-Discussion of having flags along Central Avenue. This will be discussed at a future meeting as more information is needed. Open Forum: Mural-Design completed and approved by Norwich Dept. of Public Utilities. Painting should be starting soon. Meet and Greet-Function to be discussed at the July meeting.
