HARBOR MANAGEMENT COMMISSION MEETING The Harbor Management Commission Meeting of December 27, 2011 was held in Room 210-City Hall. Chairman John Paul Mereen called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Attendance was as follows: MEMBERS PRESENT John Paul Mereen, Chairman Richard Benoit, Vice Chairman Alderman Charles Jaskiewicz Alderman H. Tucker Braddock Joanne Philbrick MEMBERS ABSENT Alan Bergren, City Manager OTHERS PRESENT Geoff Steadman. Staff 2. Determination of Quorum It was determined a quorum was present. 3. Approval of Minutes: With change; Geoff Steadman was listed as Member Absent A motion was made by Tucker Braddock, second by Richard Benoit, to accept the minutes dated October 25, 2011. Alderman Charles Jaskiewicz abstained. 4. Citizen Comment-None 5. Correspondence-None at this time. 6. Harbor Master Report Still no Harbor Master at this date 7. Old Business:  A. Informational plaques are being installed; B. There was more discussion on the installation of a Harbor Cam; C. Mr. Steadman is looking into a grant application to help produce a River Trails Map for canoe and kayak boaters 8. New Business A. We have a vacancy on the Commission and will ask the City Manager to take appropriate actions to have it filled; B. Recording Secretary; There was a question about the ability of the Commission to pay a small stipend to a volunteer. Mr. Mereen will check into that to see if that is possible, but stated in the past the Secretary for the City Manager has filled the position and from time to time has taken care of time sensitive correspondence. C. Rock the Dock Summer Music Series; The Commission voter in favor of facilitating the Concert Series for 2012 D. Harbor Management Plan Update should be here next month E. It was suggested by Mr. Jaskiewicz that The Commission along with a representative from DEEP present an update on the Fish Restoration and fishing in general to the City Council at the February 1st Council meeting. Mr. Jaskiewicz will look into setting that up. 9. Other None 10.
