HARBOR MANAGEMENT COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, June 23, 2015 5:00 PM Room 219, City Hall MEMBERS PRESENT Gerald Martin H. Call to Order-Chairman JP Mereen called the meeting to order at 5:00PM 2. Determination of Quorum: It was determined a quorum was present. 3. Approval of Minutes, May 26, 2015- Motion to approve as submitted, T. Braddock, 2nd W. Eyberse, motion carried unanimously. 4. Correspondence- a. May Budget report-Motion to approve, T. Braddock, 2nd B. Eyberse, motion carried unanimously. Chairman Mereen thanked the Council for continuing to provide funding in the budget for the HMC. b. COCP correspondence: This is economic development and will replace a gas station that was previously there. JP feels that this is not in opposition to the HMC Plan. Motion to forward a favorable recommendation to the COCP re: SDP#1031/CAM#15-01:689 W. Thames Street, J. Martin, 2nd T. Braddock, motion carried unanimously. 5. Harbor Master Report-the Harbormaster was not present. 6. New Business-none 7. Old Business a. Harbor cam-nothing new to report b. Downtown policing-nothing new to report c. CT Port Authority - Looks like they are willing to keep the funding aspect separately with DOT or DECD. Senator Osten is also watching this issue. HMC Minutes 06/23/15 Page 2 d. Kayak trail map sign installation-The sign has not been installed yet. Jason will coordinate with Barry and Angelo from PW. e. No wake buoy move-J. Martin will email info to Chief Jencks and cc Richard. f. LISFF Grants-No applicable grants have been identified. g. September Fishing Derby-Nothing to report. h. Rock the Docks-Jerry asked if the cards will have the acoustic concert series listed on the back. JP will be reviewing the cards at the Chamber this week.
