Reports
Jim Sanca reported on the following:
• Learn to Skate has over 350 members enrolled with 80 children ages 3 – 5 in the
Tot class
• Norwich Skating School currently has 67 members and will continue fundraising
for their July trip to the 2012 ISI Worlds Championships in Dallas, TX
• Three Spring hockey clinics begin in April for ages 6 – adult with Bernie Cassell
running the clinic program
• A Girls Elite Hockey Camp will be held in June to introduce new skaters to the
sport as well as work with more advanced skaters on skills
• The Rink is challenging the last 6 years of their electric rate structure. NPU
recommended using the EP structure in March of 2006, but the most economical
rate would have been the General City EGC (no demand) rate. This has been
brought to the attention of City Manager Allan Bergren’s attention. The General
City EGC rate would have likely saved The Rink thousands of dollars over the
past 6 years
• The Rink was dark for a portion of the day on February 14 – 2 electric lines under
the building were corroded due to typical wear and needed replacement. Rink
was fully lit by 5pm that day
• Items on the P&L report note: an increase in insurance cost, pro-shop skating
hardware down due to loss in skate sharpening numbers and utility increase
Old Business
There was no old business
With a motion by Doug Barlow and seconded by Rich Wolak the meeting was adjourned
at 7:10 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Cheryl Ritacco
