MOHEGAN PARK IMPROVEMENT & DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Thursday, November 12, 2020 – 6:30 P.M. Regular Meeting A virtual meeting to comply with the directive of Executive Order 7B-1 issued by Governor Ned Lamont on March 14, 2020 together with any Executive Orders subsequently issued which pertain to such meetings. MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Beryl Fishbone at 6:32 P.M. Committee members present: Beryl Fishbone, Kyle Seitz, Judy Magnano, Alderwoman Stacy Gould, Patrick McLaughlin (Ex-Officio). Absent: Samantha Venturo, Rebecca Melucci 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Patrick McLaughlin requested that we revise the minutes of the September 10, 2020 meeting to show that Kyle Seitz’ absence was with notification. Motion to accept was withdrawn by Kyle Seitz. Motion to second was withdrawn by Judy Magnano 3. NEW BUSINESS a. Request for Disc Golf directional signs was made by Beryl Fishbone. Patrick McLaughlin said DPW will add to existing directional signs. b. A motion was made by Beryl Fishbone to purchase inexpensive promotional discs with the disc golf logo and distribute to schools and various organizations to promote the Mohegan Park Disc Golf course. The motion was seconded by Stacy Gould and voted unanimously by the committee. 4. OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE a. Alderwoman Stacy Gould reported receiving correspondence regarding dogs in the park and concerns about people without masks. Kyle Seitz received inquires about the disc golf course location. 5. OLD BUSINESS a. Disc Golf Update: Kyle Seitz reported that a great article describing the Mohegan Park Disc Golf Course appeared in The Norwich Times supplement to The Norwich Bulletin. The disc golf course has unofficially opened and is already getting a great deal of attention and accolades. The  final sign is at the sign makers and an official opening is anticipated for December. b. NPW Report: Patrick McLaughlin reported that new roofs have been installed on the Maintenance Building, the Monkey House and the Lakeside Pavilion while the Gazebo will be the last building to receive a new roof. Beryl Fishbone made a motion to allocate $3,000 toward this project. The motion was seconded by Kyle Seitz and voted unanimously by the committee. 6. FINANCIAL REPORT The financial report was provided by Patrick McLaughlin. A motion to accept was made by Stacy Gould and seconded by Kyle Seitz and voted unanimously by the committee. 7. ADJOURNMENT Motion was made to adjourn by Kyle Seitz, seconded by Stacy Gould and voted unanimously by the committee. The meeting adjourned at 7:00 P.M.
