A. Minutes of the 2/21/2012 Regular Personnel & Pension Board Meeting.
III. Old Business
A. Request for a prior service buyback from Sherry Filiatreault (Children First Network Coordinator) for
the period of 10/16/2000 - 10/23/2008 – Brigid Marks on the advice of Corporation Counsel sent an
email to her union representative requesting information on the legal precedent of which they believe
to be improper. Tabled until requested information is received.
B. Request for a prior service buyback from Lisa Diaz (Young Parents Program Sr. Care Manager) for
the period of December 1996 – June 2007- Brigid Marks on the advice of Corporation Counsel sent
an email to her union representative requesting information on the legal precedent of which they
believe to be improper. Tabled until requested information is received.
C. Refunds - tabled until Corporation Counsel has had time to research the issue of refunds.
D. Application from Thomas Blake, Custodian (BOE), for a General City service-connected disability
retirement, eff. 2/6/2012. Tabled until additional information is received.
IV. New Business
A. 2011 fourth quarter review of the OPEB Fund and the Retirement Fund with Marc Shegoski and Ashley
Martella of UBS.
B. Application from Natalie Lindberg, Outreach Administrator, for a normal general city retirement effective
3/14/2012.
C. Refund to Natalie Lindberg for (partial) pension contributions. Due to an administrative error, Natalie is due a
refund in the amount of $3,650.90. Pension was withheld inadvertently from hours worked under the ECAAA
Senior Resources Agency federal grant.
D. Notification of death of retiree James Filburn (DOD 3/10/2012), who retired from NPU on 3/21/1992, no
survivorship benefit due.
E. Notification of new pension benefit due to a Domestic Relations Order payable to Marianne Boyd eff. 3/1/2012
– annual amount =$16,824.36. Michael Boyd’s will be reduced to $16,824.36 annual.
F. Request from Barry Ellison, PW Director, to extend the eligibility list for the position of Street/Park
Foreman for 1 year. The current list will expire on 4/28/2012.
