1 CITY OF NORWICH NORWICH PUBLIC PARKING COMMISSION The following are the minutes of the special meeting of the Public Parking Commission held at 12: 00 p.m. (noon), August 25, 2010 in the Buckingham Memorial Bldg. PRESENT: Ms. Olive Buddington, Chairwoman, Ms. Laurie Glenney-Popoovich, Mr. Alan Bergren, Mr. William Nash and Mr. Sean Ryan. ABSENT: Mr. Francois (Pete) Desaulniers, Mr. Jeffrey Lord At 12:05 p.m. Ms. Buddington called the meeting to order, noting a quorum was present. Discussion of 2nd Informational Meeting: Mr. Nash opened the discussion by stating that the parking plan has been in effect for 90 days and seems to be working. He noted that there has been limited feedback from the public and he would like to schedule another “forum” where concerns from the public could be heard. The members agreed that few concerns had been voiced. The plan seems to be working perfectly. Parking is available on the main streets at almost anytime of the day. Ms. Glenney-Popovich made a motion to schedule a second informational meeting. The motion was seconded by Mr. Ryan. During discussion of the motion the meeting date was set for Monday, September 13,2010. The meeting will be held at City Hall. Proper notice will be forwarded to the City Clerk’s office and the media outlets, inviting interested parties to attend. The motion was voted on and passed, with a majority of 4 votes. Ms. Buddington abstained. ADJOURNMENT: Motion made to adjourn by Mr. Bergren, second by Mr. Nash. Voted on and passed unanimously. Meeting was adjourned at 6:45 pm Respectfully Submitted, Judith A.
