1 CITY OF NORWICH NORWICH PUBLIC PARKING COMMISSION The following are the minutes of the regular meeting of the Public Parking Commission held at 5: 00 p.m., May 15, 2018 at the Intermodal Transportation Center. PRESENT: Mr. Sam Browning, Mr. Jeffrey Lord, Mr. William Nash, Mr. Sean Ryan and Mr. John Salomone ALSO: Mr. Matthew DiVincenzo and Ms. Hilary Charvain ABSENT: Ms. Joanne Philbrick Mr. Lord called the meeting to order at 5:03 pm, noting a quorum was present. PUBLIC COMMENT: Mr. Matthew DiVincenzo, of 54 Freeman Avenue, addressed the Commission regarding parking on Freeman Avenue. Ms. Hilary Charvain was late to the meeting but also expressed her concerns. Mr. Bill Nash suggested that this issue would be better addressed by the Public Safety Committee. The information will be forwarded to the Public Safety Committee. Mr. Nash will provide the meeting date, time and location to Mr. DiVincenzo by email. MINUTES: A motion was made by Mr. Salomone, second by Mr. Nash, to accept the minutes of the March 20,2018 regular meeting and the minutes of the special meeting held April 3,2018 as submitted. Attending members voted unanimously to accept the minutes. FINANCIAL REPORTS & BILLS TO BE PAID: A motion was made by Mr. Nash and second by Mr. Ryan to accept the financial reports and accounts payable reports for March and April 2018. The motion was voted on and passed unanimously. MINUTES NPPC MEETING 05/15/2018  2 PROPOSED BUDGET: The proposed budget was discussed. It was noted that there will be little change from the current year. The motion to accept the budget was made by Mr. Nash, second by Mr. Browning. The members voted unanimously to accept the budget. JULY MEETING CANCELLATION: Based on past history, it was suggested to cancel the July 2018 meeting. It has been difficult in the past to have a quorum for the July meeting due to vacations and other commitments. The motion to cancel the July 2018 meeting was made by Mr. Nash, second by Mr. Lord. The members voted unanimously to approve the motion. It is understood that if an issue arises, a Special Meeting will be called. ANYTHING ELSE BROUGHT BEFORE THE COMMISSION: Mrs. Rizzuto reminded the members that the Carninval will be in town next week. The upper part of the Clif f Street lot will be “home” to the carnival workers for the duration of their stay. During rehab work on the Reid & Hughes building, there will be no public parking available on City Landing. The Main Street Garage is fully operational at this point. The sprinkler system and piping have been repaired. Just in tme for summer use! ADJOURNMENT: Having no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Mr .
