V. Old Business –
a) HVAC for Radio Towers
John Bilda of NPU stated the HVAC has been installed. So far the install is good at Plain
Hill tower, Orchard, and PD. There are still some concerns at other locations, Occum, Rec
Center, Moriarty, Taftville.
Chief Scandariato added it will require developing a site by site action plan and budget.
Pat Daley added that EGP has their State and NPU fiber in a room with a window but if it
rains they have to close the window and temperatures skyrocket.
VI. New Business
Chief Aaron Westervelt stated his hose tender is out of service. The pump failed. A new
pump is being made. Since it is a 30 year old truck it will probably take until mid October.
OEM Director Gene Arters stated there will be a NIMS training at D.O.C. for a new
infrastructure plan.
He also stated there will be a tabletop for the medical reserve at the EOC in about 1 ½
weeks. Triage training.
Alderman Bill Nash asked if 9/11 and ISIS have prompted any counterproductive
preparations.
Gene replied FEMA is planning training for a full scale hostile takeover. There will be more
to come on that.
Alderman William Nash stated he called Senator Osten about the turn around on 395. He
was told to get the mile markers where we need the access point. It has been said that it
may be beneficial for Public Safety to draft a letter about it.
Robert Mckeon asks how many know what PSOB is and what it is worth now. He adds that
each year it needs to be reviewed for accuracy. Beneficiaries need to be updated.
The Chiefs replied they do their forms every year.
Pat Daley lets everyone know there is a spaghetti dinner at East Great Plain on 10/4 and
they hold a breakfast every 3rd Sunday.
Occum is having a Chicken Barbecue on 10/4
Chief Scand states that Fire Prevention Day is 10/4
