Minutes of the 3‐17‐2021 Recreation Advisor Board Meeting Via Zoom Attendance; Jeff Blinderman, William Nash, Julie Cagle, Derell Wilson, Cheryl Hancin Preston, Lee‐Ann Gomes. Jeff opened the meeting at 6:00pm and stated that there was a quorum. Approval of the minutes was tabled until the next meeting. Old Business…Cheryl reported on some programs that had been happening at the Rec. and the Spring Summer book of activities. Facilities…Cheryl reported that we were successful at having unused Capitol Improvement Funds transferred to do new projects, including resurfacing Jenkins, Fernwood, Thamesville and Hamilton Basketball courts this summer. She also reviewed the new Taftville court project that has been put out to RFP recently. New Business….We discussed the need to have more projects funded. Many of the facilities are run down and have not been repaired in years. We also discussed the possibility of creating a splash pad for the community. A small planning committee will be developed to review this. Julie volunteered to serve on it. Julie also had an idea that we should have articles posted in the Norwich Times, detailing what the Rec is doing in the community so that people could see all our hard work and suggest other areas to be improved.
