Norwich Recreation Advisory Board February 15, 2023, 6pm Rose City Senior Center 8 Mahan Drive Minutes I. Attendance: Jeff Brown, Peter Camp, Grant Neuendorf, Bob Kilpatrick, Erin Haggan, Kara Kochanski II. Call to order Jeff Brown 5:57pm- Second Kara Kochanski III. Approval of Minutes Jeff Brown -Second Grant Neuendorf IV. Discussion on ideas from Jan 17th special meeting a. Increase frequency of meetings with various groups b. Meet with small groups of the same sport c. Recreation dept is the umbrella for all organizations providing recreational activities in the city d. Survey will be sent out to gather information on other activities that we can include in the recreation booklet. V. Need to increase pay for quality certified coaches VI. Discussed ideas on improving website and social media presence a. The need for funding to hire a communication director to run the website and social media pages for the NFYR b. The need to increase photos events on social media c. The need to Increase advertising of events on social media VII. Safety concerns at Dickenman Field a. The need for a safety cap along the foul line fence. (quote will be sent) b. Possible installation of fencing along the back of the bleachers VIII. Public Comment a.
