MINUTES OF THE REHAB REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING NOVEMBER 12, 2008 8:45 AM Members Present: Rodney Bowie, Jim Troeger, Joe East, Mayor Benjamin Lathrop & Susan Goldman Also Present: Wayne Sharkey, Linda Lee Smith Chairperson Rodney Bowie called the meeting to order at 8:47 a.m. Joe East made a motion to accept the minutes of the October 16, 2008 meeting. Jim Troeger seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Old Business None New Business Rehab Lottery Tianne Phoenix Curtis, notary had been selected to pick the Property Rehab applicant ID numbers to establish the order that the projects will proceed. But on inspection with the Building Department and the Fire Marshall it is just not feasible and very difficult to make it code correct as a 6 unit and the funds are not there to make it a 6 unit. There were egress issues. The only thing to do is to leave it as 4 units and fully code correct as per Fire Marshall. Rodney Bowie made a motion to approve the reduction of $10,000 on Project RP0712 from 6 units to 4 units. Mayor Benjamin Lathrop seconded the motion. Susan Goldman abstained. The motion carried. Wayne Sharkey explained that they would be doing the exit interview with HUD for the Lead Grant and evaluate why we didn’t receive funding. The City will start a mandatory lead testing in the schools in January 2009. If the City can show an increase in lead poisonings we may have a better chance in qualifying for the Lead Program next year. Adjournment Jim Troeger made a motion to adjourn. Rodney Bowie seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. The Rehab Review Committee meeting adjourned at 9:02 a.m.
