Rehabilitation Review Committee

MINUTES OF THE REHABILITATION REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING January 14, 2015 9:15 AM Members Present: Rodney Bowie, Jim Troeger, Terell Wilson, & Gary Evans Absent: Jim Roberts, & Joe East Others Present: Jacquie Barbarossa, Recording Secretary Chairman Rodney Bowie called the Rehab Review Committee meeting to order at 9:20 AM. A quorum was determined. Rodney Bowie asked for approval of November 12, 2014 Meeting Minutes. Motion was made by Terell Wilson and seconded by Gary Evans to accept the minutes – unanimous . Old Business – none New Business – Rodney Bowie asked if the Mayor would be willing to reach out to the community to get some younger members on the committee. Terell Wilson suggested reaching out to Three Rivers Community College. Gary Evans thought that was a good idea and asked Terell to follow up with the Mayor. Application Approvals/Denials/De-obligation of Funds Jacquie provided members present with 1 Property Rehabilitation/Lead Based Paint Hazard Control Program application recommended for approval and stated that the applicant met eligibility requirements and the January taxes were due at the end of the month. The applications were as follows: Project Application Number of Lead Rehab type units Award Award LP1260/RP1353 Owner 1 $16,000.00 $15,000.00 Gary Evans made a motion to wait-list approve the application pending funding availability, second by Jim Troeger – unanimous - application APPROVED subject to funding. Appeals/ Requests - None Final Payments - None Open Discussion – Gary evens stated that attendance at the meetings was important in the next few months since there are only a few more meetings before the end of the grant period. He stated that several projects may be have to be de-obligated to free up funds for those on the wait-list. There was a brief discussion regarding how the units are prioritized in the program.
