MINUTES OF THE REHABILITATION REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING February 11 , 2015 9:15 AM Members Present: Rodney Bowie, Jim Troeger, Joe East, & Gary Evans Absent: Jim Roberts, & Terell Wilson Others Present: Jacquie Barbarossa, Recording Secretary Chairman Rodney Bowie called the Rehab Review Committee meeting to order at 9:21 AM. A quorum was determined. Rodney Bowie asked for approval of the January 14, 2015 Meeting Minutes. Motion was made by Joe East and seconded by Jim Troeger to accept the minutes – unanimous . Old Business – none New Business – Gary Evans stated there was a lead project to de-obligate since the applicant was unable to meet HUD requirements. He stated that the applicant is still eligible for rehabilitation funds. He stated that he had sent a letter asking the applicant to provide further information due to the amount of work required at the property. This will determine if the rehab portion is still viable. He also said that this would free up funds for another project that has been wait- listed. Joe East asked why the applicant was unable to meet the requirements. Mr. Evans explained that the applicant was unable to market the property to children age 6 and under to meet the lead program guidelines. Wayne Sharkey stated that he had inspected the property and even if both programs were available, the applicant still needs a substantial amount of his/her own funds to obtain a certificate of occupancy. Jim Troeger asked if the property had been cited for lead. Mr. Sharkey stated he was unaware of any lead order on the property and that one of the units was vacant. He stated that Uncas Health has different guidelines for properties if “at risk” children live there. He advised Jim to speak with Patrick McCormack of Uncas Health if he had additional questions. Appeals/ Requests - None Final Payments - None Open Discussion – None Adjournment Jim Troeger made a motion to adjourn, second by Joe East - unanimous . Meeting adjourned at 9:36 AM.
