School Building Committee (2020) Special Meeting Held in Room 335 of City Hall 100 Broadway, Norwich And via ZOOM Wednesday, November 1, 2023 5:30 PM Committee Members Present: Chairman Mark Bettencourt, President Pro Tem Joe DeLucia, Alderwoman Stacy Gould, William Hull, Gregory Ballassi, Christine DiStasio, Shiela Hayes, Mark Kulos (ZOOM), Gregory Carabine and Peter Gauthier. Committee Members Absent: Cindy Beauregard. Ex-Officio Members Present: None. Citizens Present: None. I. Call to Order and Quorum: Chairman Mark Bettencourt called the meeting to order at 5:31 PM. II. Executive Session: For the purpose of interviewing and discussion of finalist candidate firms to fill the Construction Manager (CM) posted RFQ/P. Gilbane, Downes and O&G: Alderwoman Stacy Gould made a motion to enter executive session for the purpose of interviewing and discussion of finalist candidate firms to fill the Construction Manager (CM) posted RFQ/P - Gilbane, Downes and O&G - which would include members from the finalist candidate firms; ex-officio members; staff from CSG; and staff from DRA. William Hull seconded. The chairman called the roll of members present and all were in favor. The motion passed unanimously. The committee exited the executive session and no votes were taken during that time. III. Selection of CM firm for position, if committee makes that decision then: Alderwoman Stacy Gould made a motion to hire Downes Construction as the construction management firm for the Stanton and Greeneville Elementary School projects. Christine DiStasio seconded. The chairman called the roll of members present and all were in favor. The motion passed unanimously. IV. Adjournment: Alderwoman Stacy Gould made a motion to adjourn at 9:26 PM. Shiela Hayes seconded. The chairman called the roll of members present and all were in favor.
