NORWICH YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD MEETING November 10th, 2015 ROOM 335, NORWICH CITY HALL (860) 823-3782 - FAX (860) 892-6031 Email: nyfs@cityofnorwich.org MINUTES The Norwich Youth and Family Services Advisory Board was held on November 10, 2015 in Room 335 in Norwich City Hall. Those in attendance were as follows: Jodi Vara-President Kay Eyberse-NYFS Coordinator Kevin Saythany-Secretary Jaime Miller-Norwich Tech Mike McKinney-NPD Guest: Deb Kievits Excused: Erin Wood Angela Rae Duhaime Welcome and introductions The meeting was called to order at 8:45am. The sign-up sheet was circulated and introductions made. Review of last meetings minutes The minutes from September 15, 2015 were reviewed by Jodi Vara. A motion to accept was moved by Jaime Miller and 2nd by Kay Eyberse. The minutes were unanimously approved. Program Review Kay reviewed all ongoing programs for the board. Cool Directions has filled its openings earlier than usual. The “Engaging City Leaders in Juvenile Justice Reform” is on track to be finished in December. Lee-Ann has been working on getting a car for our use to reduce liability issues. Review of “Code of Ethics” The City’s Code of Ethics was distributed and reviewed. Kay will send it by email to members not in attendance. Norwich Prevention Council  The grant was delivered on time. There is some possibility of an increase in funds but that is unclear at this time.  The majority of the dollars, $2500+ was earmarked, again, for opioid and heroin prevention efforts, including drop box advertising.  The police have been approached about a second round of compliance checks.
