1 Opening
a. Call to Order
i. Meeting called to order by Chair Valerie Hancock.
b. Roll Call
i. Present: Julie Spengler, Valerie Hancock, Vicki Evans, Herb Roach, Chad
Schwarz, Bob Kueker, Camren Luster
ii. Absent: Mark Kampen
iii. City Representatives: Cameron DeWitt
iv. Public: None
c. Approval of Minutes
i. The draft minutes from the 5/5/26 meeting were presented to the
commission.
ii. Motion: Roach moved to approve the minutes as presented. Luster
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
2 New Business
a. Potential Historic Landmark Designations
i. Members reviewed some suggested properties on the screen and
discussed. Members had questions about several of the properties.
1. 501 Susan: can we find out who originally built this home?
2. 502 N. Oak: can we find out who owns this currently?
ii. Suggested future neighborhoods to review are City Park area, Central School
area, Alma, Westfield
iii. Suggested property for members to review: 101 Charles, 401 N. Oak, 319 N
Vine, Other properties on Fontainebleu Dr., 912 Indian Springs, 403 N.
Lincoln

a. Plaque for 907 Southview Landmark Designation
i. Julie will reach out to Cooks to discuss how to present plaque.

a. A motion to adjourn was made by Roach. Motion was seconded by Schwarz. Motion
carried unanimously.

Background: The Commission may initiate the designation of any area, place, building, structure, district or
object within the city as a landmark site. The Commission, after determining the preliminary boundaries for
any proposed landmark site, shall set a time and place for a public hearing on the merits of designating the
landmark site proposed. The boundaries of the landmark site finally designated may include less than the
area established as the preliminary boundaries, but shall not include less than the area established as the
preliminary boundaries, but shall not include more area without a new or continued public hearing for
which separate notice is provided. The commission will discuss the following sites as potential landmark
designations: 1301 De Soto Drive, 1416 S Yale Drive, 513 Westfield Drive, 510 Susan Court, 434 N Oak Street,
430 N Oak Street, 401 N Oak Street, 316 W Madison Street, 502 N Oak Street, 204 Fontainebleau, 307 Emily
Drive, 115 Delmar Ave, 114 Booster Rd.
