Page 3 of 9 Page 4 of 9  Radio Board Regular Meeting Minutes June 28, 2022 Call to Order Radio Board Chair, Marty Hadfield called the meeting to order at 10:30 am from the Ocean Shores Library. Roll Call Radio Board Chair, Marty Hadfield called roll. Approval of Meeting Agenda Motion: Radio Board Member Prowse made a motion to accept the Radio Board agenda as written. Radio Board Member Santoro seconded the motion. The motion passed with 5 yes votes. Public Communication. • Don Williams commented on the zoom audio being of good quality Reports: • Chair Report o Radio Board Chair, Marty Hadfield reported on the filing change with the FCC application and the Mayor authorizing to work with the City Attorney on the topic of paying volunteers to solicit support funding for KOSW. • Station Report o KOSW Station Manager, Butch Larson reported on the Sand and Sawdust Event, community requesting additional KOSW merchandise, broadcasting live on the beach, upcoming Hog-Wild Event, starting July 9, 2022 KOSW will have a new show called “Sports Talk” from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturdays, “Monday Night” signup for additional show and marketing on the beach. • Technology Report o Radio Board Chair, Marty Hadfield reported on the implementation of upgrading to a full noncommercial FM station, location based on interference issues, changing the power level request from 6000 watts to 1200 watts, cost savings, and funding options for consideration. • Board Member Report o Marty Hadfield had no report o Darrel Prowse reported on participating in the Sand and Sawdust Event, upcoming Sports Show, future planning on Ocosta School Sports coverages and simulcasting the KOSW Morning Show on North Beach Community TV channel 68. o Rosanna Santoro reported on the KOSW Radio Volunteer Handbook committee’s progress. o David Bunch reported on participating in the Sand and Sawdust Event, agreeing with the need for KOSW to purchase a generator, and offering to keep the meeting minutes for the Radio Station Board. o Thomas Gardner reported on the dependability of solar panels as a backup during power outages. 1.
