This constitutes a meeting of the Common Council pursuant to State ex rel. Badke v. Promote Development of the Olympia Resort Area BACKGROUND The intent of the Committee-of-the-Whole closed session is to share the process, timeline, and establish a dollar amount for the jurisdictional offer (JO) to be served. Process: Feb 2nd : COW Mtg – closed session – share timeline, process & potential offer amount Feb 2nd: City Council – formally approve JO to be issued & adopt Resolution authorizing CDA to proceed to jointly approve JO Week of February 8th: CDA meets to approve JO City must wait 30 days for response to JO March 16th: City Council formally approves Award of Damages (if Park Studios LLC have not accepted it) - Adopt Resolution authorizing CDA to proceed to jointly approve Award of Damages Thereafter, CDA – approves Award of damages Resolution RECOMMENDATION Attorney Riffle will advise COW members on potential offer amount based on appraisal, as well as his expertise related to condemnation processes. SUGGESTED ACTION Direction for City Attorney & Staff to proceed based on dollar amount agreed upon for Jurisdictional Offer. 1 2
