Direction was given for the Police Department to work with the property owners and Festival leaders to determine the best way to move forward with the event. Focus on Community Growth B. Plan for Future Growth Areas for Regional Development 2. Encourage development within 67/I94 Corridor a. Focus on SW Summit Ave Area opportunities BACKGROUND Staff has been meeting with the development team from Neumann Developments that has interest in the purchase of the Baysari lands administered by Prairie Trust. Because of those discussions, and in consultation through individual Common Council member feedback, the development team has conceptualized a project for the redevelopment of the site for potential commercial, multi-family, and single-family residential development. Neumann Development Inc. will use this opportunity to share with the Common Council the status of their efforts related to achieving a desired development project consistent with the City’s SW Summit Avenue and Comprehensive Master Plan’s. The project could also include the enhancement and expansion of public amenities/connections within the area. A public/private partnership has been requested to accommodate the expansion of infrastructure needed to accomplish this future development area. RECOMMENDATION Future policy direction will be needed from the City Council to proceed with this development area identified in the SW Summit Avenue Area and Comprehensive Master Plan’s. 1 3
