In attendance: Councilman Darius Crump., Councilwoman Sandra Cook,
Councilman Matthew Tortorice, Councilman Jonathan Ray, Mayor
Pro-Tem James Chapman, and Mayor Daryl McIntyre
Absent:
Prayer: Mr. Barker
Pledge of Alliance
A quorum was declared.
Adoption of Agenda
Discussion:
Councilman Matthew Tortorice moved to amend the agenda to add the
following to the agenda:
water impact fee, Dillard Park, fire department affairs, city’s handbook,
budget workshop, Argo sewer impact fee/franchise agreement, sign
ordinance, sink hole. Councilman Jonathan Ray seconded the Motion. The
Motion failed with two yeses and four noes.
Mayor Pro-Tem James Chapman moved to adopted the agenda as
presented. Mayor Daryl McIntyre seconded the Motion. The Motion
passed with four yeses and two noes.
Mr. Barker updated the Council on the railroad maintenance schedule:
Old Acton Rd closed at 12:00 AM on 4/1/2025 until 8:00 PM on 4/4/2025
Railroad Ave 6-8 hours outage on 4/11/2025
Railroad Ave paving outage 6-8 hours on 4/13/2025
Sanie Road maintenance 4/12/2025 – 4/13/2025 with potential road closure
or outage
Sanie Road paving outage 6-8 hours on 4/14/2025
Councilman Darius Crump moved suspend the rules to consider
authorizing Mr. Barker an additional $52,000.00 to cover the additional
road quotes he received. Councilwoman Sandra Cook seconded the
Motion. The Motion failed for lack of unanimously vote.
Mayor Pro-Tem James Chapman moved to accept council minutes 3-4-
2025, as written by the city clerk. Mayor Daryl McIntyre seconded the
Motion. The Motion passed with five yeses, and one abstaining
(Councilman Jonathan Ray was not present).
Councilman Darius Crump addressed the sewer smell in Sunrise
Subdivision. And dogs without leashes.
Councilwoman Sandra Cook informed the Council about a community
Easter hunt to be held on April 19 th. Mr. Davis the owner of Kravin the
new ice cream shop would like the city to donate a bouncy house and
candy to fill plastic eggs.
Mayor Daryl McIntyre moved to adjourn. Pro-Tem James Chapman
seconded the Motion. Motion passed with four yeses and two noes.
The meeting adjourned at 6:22 PM.
