Minutes Beach Nourishment Committee Meeting January 17, 2023
Meeting called to order by Sandy Boyer 6:37 P.M. at OD Fire Station
Attendees: Sandy Boyer, Bruce Boyer, John Lawicki, Peter Mavrelis, Paul Panther, Dave
Snyder(remote), , C.J. Jackson, Scott Kingan (remote)
The minutes of the December meeting were approved.
Reports:
Middle and west engineering- no new developments, awaiting for permit approval so
that cost estimates can be made.
Restore the Shore - Still working with government agencies to secure help
Permitting – final application being prepared and submission later this month
Litigation/Mitigation – no new development. Lawyers to meet next month
Timeline - Agreed that no work to be done during the summer months. This may push
the start date for revetment to fall 2023.
Dune grass – residents encouraged to plant grass. Final plans will include grass
Donation – some discussion regarding fund raising was made.
Long range planning – A more comprehensive long-range plan was suggested.
Resilient coastal projects initiative – still trying to connect with Bridget Brown
DNR Lake Michigan Coastal Program – Sandy and Scott have made connections
Snow Fencing – an ordinance regarding the proper type and timing of snow fencing is
needed. John and Bruce will work on a proposal.
New Business:
Receipts for donations will be issued by the town by the end of January
Next meeting February 21 at town hall

Shore Protection Responsibility Matrix – Scott (on hold until spring)
Timeline – Permit application completed this week, estimates from GZA follows that, then we
seek grants and donations from OD residents, construction to begin June 1
Dune grass on construction access along east end of the shore – on hold until other work is
done. However, homeowners are welcome to install dune grass on their own.
Requesting donations from residents – How should we do this? Reminder that donations are
tax deductible.
Ogden Dunes Long Range – Peter
Resilient Coastal Projects Initiative – Allan
DNR Lake Michigan Coastal Program – Sandy/Scott
Snow fencing north of the revetment on the west end, a third fence has been added - Dave

When will the rest of the donation receipts be issued by the Town?
