Beach Nourishment Committee Meeting

Minutes Beach Nourishment Committee Meeting January 16, 2024 Zoom meeting (due to inclement weather) called to order by Sandy Boyer at 6:33 PM Attendees: Sandy Boyer, Bruce Boyer, Scott Kingan, Charles Sheaff, Paul Pather, Dave Snyder, Allan Halline, Michele Bonneau, Curtis Jackson, John Lawicki Motion to approve minutes of the 12/19/23 meeting by Charles Sheaff, seconded by Michele Bonneau. Minutes approved. REPORTS: Permitting: Permits for shoreline protection on Town property will be needed from the Town. Further discussion is needed regarding the details. Scott Kingan will coordinate this. Save the Dunes: The next meeting with attorneys is 5/1/24. Meditation will take place prior to this. GZA: Cost estimates for shoreline protection are in progress. Fee is $3000 to prepare cost estimates and to update drawings on a per lot basis based on current conditions. Reconciliation: No new developments Resilient Costal Projects Initiative: Allan will attend a Webinar tomorrow and will report on it at the February meeting Porter County Community Fund: All donations should be made directly to Restore the Shore - NOT through the Porter County Community Fund. Erosion Study: per Tony, the study on shoreline erosion is reportedly on track to be started in 2024 Shoreline Protection: There was discussion regarding the next steps for the project to strengthen shoreline protection, including how to best approach residents for donations.
