Minutes Beach Nourishment Committee Meeting April 16, 2024 Meeting called to order by Sandy Boyer 6:37P.M. at OD town hall Attendees: Sandy Boyer, Bruce Boyer, John Lawicki, Peter Mavrelis, Paul Panther, Michele Bonneau, David Schneider, C.J. Jackson, Scott Keegan Minutes approved from the March 19 meeting. Scott Report: Scott reviewed the status of all the current litigation. This includes the issues with the mitigation regarding the East End project as well the objections from Save the Dunes. In addition, where and when placement of additional sand on the Portage beach was discussed. Once these suits are finalized, we can proceed with the beach stabilization project. The issues of reconciliation with the monies on the East End project will hopefully reach a solution soon. Finally, asking for contributions from all those original homeowners in the original law suit was suggested as a way to retire our legal costs. Sandy Report: Sandy and Bruce along with CJ have researched aluminum stairs that will allow access to the sand over the rocks at all accessways. We agreed to get bids for access 6,7,9,11,12,16. Funding for these seems possible. Once these are in place additional funding from the town residents can be sought. We are looking to get this done by this summer. Ideas to raise additional funds for ongoing beach expenses was discussed. It was suggested that working with the Womans Club and Lions club would be a good idea.
