General Code Review Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesday March 26, 2024, 7pm Town Hall, Ogden Dunes Member Present Member Present Jim Slawinski, Chair, 2026 X Mimi Ramos, 2027 X David Hollar, Sec, 2025 X Bob Schwartz, 2026 X Eric Fried, 2027 X Scott Kingan, TC Member X Mike Shaefer, 2025 vacant, TC Member Richard Hassan, 2026 X Meeting called to order – 7:05 pm Approval of Minutes of the Jan. 2024 meeting – Unanimously approved as written Old Business : (only from last month) Proposed Ordinance involving cleanup of items left on beach: Continued discussion of the proposed ordinance drafted by Jim. After discussion, the committee amended the draft ordinance to include a sentence dealing with disposal of items. There was also some discussion about how picking up items should be handled outside of beach season. As amended, the ordinance was unanimously approved to send to the Town Council. Seasonal Parking: Review and reaffirmation of committee recommendations from January meeting. Easements: Discussion of issue of homeowners who have encroached on town easements, particularly in beach parking zones. Town should think about ways to ensure parking is not encroached further. Review of Ordinance #873 (Amending Chapters 31 & 32 re: Depts, Boards, and Commissions): Some discussion about eliminating the Building Code Review Committee and folding its responsibilities into the Plan Commission. Discussion about repealing all ordinances that separately establish in order to try to standardize appointment terms as set forth in Chapter 32.01. Discussion on potentially repealing committee member term limits as set out in 32.01(B). New Business Request from Building Commissioner re: fencing and sheds: Matter was referred to the Building Code Committee. Ordinance Review: No new assignments made.
