Beach Nourishment Committee Meeting

Minutes Beach Nourishment Committee Meeting March 19, 2024 Meeting called to order by Sandy Boyer 6:37P.M. at OD town hall Attendees: Sandy Boyer, Bruce Boyer, John Lawicki, Peter Mavrelis, Paul Panther, Michele Bonneau, Al Hallane, David Schneider(remote), C.J. Jackson Minutes approved from the February 20 and March 5 meetings. Sandy reports: Scott reported to Sandy that the legal negotiations with all involved parties is progressing and we are looking for a favorable resolution soon. Reconciliation of the east end finances continues. We agreed to reach out to Save the Dunes to establish some type of dialogue of good will and better understanding between our organizations. Final drawings will be completed by our engineer for the beach preservation project. Beach Party: Sandy put out a list of jobs for the proposed Beach Party fund raiser. Many of the committee members signed up to help. Peter reviewed the requirements for getting a license for a raffle. Timing of a raffle was suggested not to conflict with the Fire department nor the Lions club raffle. Sandy agreed to look into the application for a gaming license for a qualified organization. CJ suggested that silent auctions can be done on line for various prizes. Special Beech parking: We agreed to have an auction for a reserved named parking space for the summer. No state permit is required for this auction. Naming rights for accessway costs : The idea for associating a donors name with a specific accessway was discussed. Rubber walkway from road to beach: Paul will move forward with the donors regarding having the rubber beach walkway for accessway 18. Matrix surcharge: John suggested revisiting the idea of a $10 surcharge to everyone’s water bill to help with ongoing expenses to maintain the beach. The meeting was adjourned at 7:57.
