Beach Nourishment Committee Meeting

Minutes Beach Nourishment Committee Special Meeting March 5, 2024 Meeting called to order by Sandy Boyer 6:440P.M. at OD Town Hall Attendees: Sandy Boyer, Bruce Boyer, John Lawicki, Peter Mavrelis, Paul Panther, C.J. Jackson, Michele Bonneau, , Al Hallane, Scott Keegan The purpose of the special meeting was to generate ideas for fund raising for shore preservation for the accessways and sand replenishment. Scott briefly spoke about the mission of our committee to work towards the betterment of the whole town and all the subcommittees. A summer beach party was suggested by Scott. Selling tickets, having food and drinks and music would generate attendance. Having the food and drink sponsored by patrons was suggested. Having a raffle for a golf cart and other beach prizes such as paddleboards was suggested by Paul. Having a “pay to play”trivia contest was made by Sandy. A 50/50 raffle was suggested by Bruce. The weekend after July 4th was proposed as a likely weekend. The sale or silent auction for a yearly prime beach parking spot was also suggested. Scott will investigate the town ordinance to see if this can be done. Peter will do more research on Bingo as an ongoing money making idea perhaps monthly during the winter months. We all agreed to meet in two weeks. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15. Peter Mavrelis
