Minutes Beach Nourishment Committee Meeting Feb 20, 2024 Meeting called to order by Sandy Boyer 7:02 P.M. at OD Fire House Attendees: Sandy Boyer, John Lawicki, Peter Mavrelis, Paul Panther, Michele Bonneau, Bruce Boyer, C. J. Jackson, Charles Sheaff, Allen Halline, Scott Kingan (remote), Dave Schneider (remote) The minutes of the January 16th meeting were approved. First Sandy discussed the status of the legal issues with the past and future shore preservation projects. Ways to minimize legal fees were discussed. Bruce next updated the group on his visit to a local quarry and explained the estimated costs of the project. The rest of the meeting was centered on generating ideas to raise monies to help cover all the expenses of the proposed shoreline preservation project. Sandy suggested a fundraising program that involves collecting shoes to donate to needy countries. Charles suggested having fundraising dinners. He also suggested weekly raffles at local bars and restaurants. CJ suggested getting support from the homeowners association and the town by charging for parking permits during the summer months. Organizing a monthly Bingo game at the firehouse was also suggested. We agreed to do some research on these methods and to return for another meeting in two weeks.
