Minutes of the October meeting were approved.
REPORTS:
Reconciliation: Scott
Four owners from the east end project still owe monies. Final letters will be sent.
Litigation: Scott
OD vs USACE and NPS and state of Indiana DNR: All parties are in agreement to
settle all ongoing disputes quickly and amicably. Dredging is complete and we are hoping
the army corps of engineers is working with the state to get further sand deposited on our
beach. We have asked the courts for a summary judgement regarding the lawsuit with save
the dunes. The Great Lakes initiative will be starting a $25M study on erosion in the Great
Lakes.
Fund Raising: Sandy
Funding for shore protection for access 16, 17, 18 and 19 and 12 are covered. There
is still a need for access 8, 11, 13, and 14. Some stair donation for the accessways have
also been promised.
CONSTRUCTION: Bruce and Sandy
Bruce and Sandy reported on how homeowner participation for the the shore
protection project is going. Bids for the project have been sent to several contractors with
a final response date of January 17. Once a bid has been accepted, final costs will be
presented to each homeowner. Funds will then be collected by the Greater Indiana Title
company. Separate contracts will be made with each homeowner and the winning
construction company. After inspection by Dan our supervising engineer, each
homeowner will then sign off on payment to the contractor through the title company. By
using this mechanism, we can insure timely funding and quality of workmanship for this
project. We plan to have the project underway by February and done by March 31. A final
letter will be given to each donor confirming a tax deductible donation has been made on
their behalf as a donation in kind from the title company to the town of Ogden Dunes.
Much credit was given to both Bruce and Sandy for guiding the project through these final
phases.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15pm

Donations for shore protection– Sandy
• Keep in mind that donations for shore protection are needed before we purchase stairs.
o The revetment is finished at accesses 7, 16, 17, and 19.
o The funds to restore Access 18 after the shore protection goes in will be covered by
participating homeowners.
o We have commitments for 12 and half of 14.
• I have been speaking to homeowners about donations for phase II and III. It is going well. I have
been told by two homeowners that they will not participate. Most people have been receptive.
EZ Beach Steps – Sandy
• The steps at access will need to extend farther north after the rocks go in. We have the funding.
• We have an additional platform piece in storage for access 9. We hope that is sufficient.
• We also have funding for access 12.
• We received $3,000 in donations for steps in other places.
