Environmental Advisory Board Meeting

Ogden Dunes Environmental Advisory Board Town Hall April 16, 2024 5:30 p.m. Attendees: Board: Tom Davenport, Frank Lani, Karl Krizmanic. Guest: Scott Kingan While no quorum was present, this meeting was conducted in a discussion format. No official votes were conducted. Brief update on the status of the beach grant and upcoming IDEM meeting/training on it. Scott Kingan brought up four opportunities for the Ogden Dunes Environmental Advisory Board to participate in. 1) Establish an environmental educational effort on invasive species for the community in conjunction with the other committees such as the Historic Society, Homeowners Association, and the National Park. 2) Provide suggestions/ideas on the area being developed off Hillcrest where the train box is going. We need to develop a plan before requesting a grant or any funding. A pollinator garden was mentioned as possible feature. 3) Providing input into the Town Master Plan effort. Susan Mihalo’s idea regarding a pollinator garden was brought up. 4) Establish a 24-foot isosceles triangle island at the intersection of Sunset Trail and Diana. Also discussed Pollywog pond dedication on May 18th . Karl took Frank on a tour to see the spots Scott mentioned. Minutes taken by Tom Davenport and submitted by Vicky Albritton
