Ogden Dunes Water Board Meeting Minutes 4:30 PM Tuesday April 9th, @ OD Town Hall Present: Jim Slawinski (JS) Tom Cleland (TC) Dave Snyder (DS) Matt Moore (MM) Julia Klingensmith (JK) Scott Kingan (SK) Leslie Tyburski (LT) • JS introduced OD Resident LT who is a potential candidate for the open Water Board Position • The March 2024 Water Board Minutes were unanimously approved by the Water Board Directors. • JK reviewed the March 2024 Water Board Fund Report • JK & JS Reviewed the first quarter 2024 water bill, the corrections made to the actual bill as well as the current due date. • JS mentioned the incentive that will be offered to all residents involved with a late bill notice in which the late fee will be waved providing that the resident signs up for auto payments. • There was a lengthy discussion with the entire group involving the Water Department’s involvement regarding the purchase of a new truck, the addition of a new full time Street/Water Employee and multiple choices involving the recent Indiana American Water Rate Increase. Before a decision will be made on any of the above the current full time Street/Water Department Employee Benefit Package will be reviewed to see what impact it would have with the Water Department if they were to absorb a percentage of the current benefit package. • JS will contact Justin Mount from Indiana American Water to get a possible timeline on any future IAW Rate Increase. • TC & JS will set up a meeting with a representative from USIC to discuss inaccurate past billing charges. • JS mentioned the multiple USIC Markers by the Indiana American Water Building. DS commented that it would be the Water Department’s responsibility for payment since it is on current OD Town Property. JS will try to see if IAW would possibly consider paying part, if not all these USIC Charges as it pertains to their current building project. • 2024 Backflow Requirement Information will be sent out to all OD Residents that have irrigation systems as soon as possible. • JS commented that the recently obtained “Ogden Dunes Consumer Water Quality Report” will be made available to Ogden Dunes Residents in multiple ways and as soon as possible. • TC reviewed tentative plans for the Pump House Building Sign. • TC will make the necessary adjustments to tone down the Pump House Building Light. • TC gave an update on the current Vega Landscaping Project Timeline. • JS & MM gave an update on the recently rebuilt and reinstalled Fire Pump Throttle Motor. • MM reported that now that the throttle motor has been repaired and repairs also made to the control panel water pressure line, the Fire Pump will be tested once again early this summer, most likely during the annual Fire Hydrant Testing Period.  • JS commented on the status of the OD Resident Customer Software Portal as well as the Zenner Software Maintenance Invoice he has yet to receive. • MM & TC commented on the one remaining Street Main Shut off valve that still needs to be addressed. • There were no closing remarks from anyone present and the meeting adjourned at approximately 6:05 PM X Tom Cleland Water Board Director X Jim Slawinski Water Board Director
