General Code Review Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, 7pm Town Hall, Ogden Dunes Member Present Member Present Jim Slawinski, Chair, 2026 X Dick Meister, 2024 X Ken Thompson, Sec, 2024 X Bob Schwartz, 2026 X David Hollar. 2025 Scott Kingan, TC Member Mike Shaefer, 2025 Vacant, TC Member Richard Hassan, 2026 X • Approval of Minutes from The June GCR Meeting - approved as written by unanimous consent. • Chickens: TC President Request to review current ordinance involving “chickens.” There is an ordinance, 857 & 830 related to poultry. • Abandoned personal property on beach: TC President Request to review ordinance (if any) involving miscellaneous items left on the beach overnight. Seems like 51.03 & 94.41 might apply. • Building maintenance and upkeep: Town Marshal / Building Commissioner request to review ordinance (if any) involving building maintenance and upkeep. Jeremy explained current ordinances that apply. • Lawn upkeep: Town Marshal / Building Commissioner request to review ordinance (if any) involving lawn upkeep. Current ordinance was reviewed at the Sept 4, Town Council Meeting. • Crosswalks: GCR Recommendation involving street crosswalks. There are two areas involving the planetary trail on Hillcrest and Diana. • Refuge Container Update: Jim discussed current requirements and need to enforce when practicable. • Beach Parking (Sticker) requirements in adjoining communities: The committee agreed on the need to see what other communities are doing. There is a concern that Ogden Dunes will be considered a location where it is cheaper to enter than the National Park and as an option when the park runs out of parking. Additional GCR Recommendations to the TC: Discussions on other areas the committee should focus upon which led to a list of assignments for the next meeting. Next meeting: Sept 26th 7p at Town Hall.
