MINUTES General Code Review Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, 7pm Town Hall, Ogden Dunes Member Present Member Present Jim Slawinski, Chair, 2026 X Dick Meister, 2024 X Ken Thompson, Sec, 2024 X Bob Schwartz, 2026 X David Hollar. 2025 X Scott Kingan, TC Member X Mike Shaefer, 2025 X Vacant, TC Member Richard Hassan, 2026 Meeting called to Order 7:10p Approval of minutes from the October 24th GCR Meeting - approved unanimously as written. New proposed ordinance involving cleanup of items left on the beach (JS) - Discussion focus on day or cleanup and role of street department, what to do with the items, how to make them so owners can pick up the items removed. Discussion will continue in January. 2024 GCR Committee Member Openings - two openings, encourage people to apply. 2024 GCR Officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary) - will be decided when the new board meets in January. 2024 GCR Meeting Schedule - Thinking of just one every two months depending on needs. 1 Or 2 TC Liaisons for 2024 - To be determined by Town Council. Seasonal Parking - TC Liaison / TC President (if present). Scott reviewed the issues with fees for parking in national park and closing in the summer when parking is full and expected overflow coming to Ogden Dunes. Problem with enforcement of parking ban (maybe more summer staffing) and maybe going back to when we had weekend summer staffing greeting non- residents as one entered the community. Enforcement seemed to be a big issue (maybe train college-agers to write tickets in the summer). Bob provided what other communities along the lake do including Miller, Beverley Shores, and Dune Acres. Discussion will continue next meeting. Current Ordinance Review Assignments: To recall, we divided tasks to review existing ordinances pending codification to determine is changes need be made before codification. Ordinance #861 (Amend parking regs, Rec Vehicles) & 867 (IURC opt out): Jim Slawinski - stet (let it stand as is, no change warranted for either. Ordinance # 871 (Speed Limits - Amending): Dave Hollar: - stet. Ordinance # 873 (Amending Cpt 31 & 32 Dept, Boards, & Commission): Rich Hassan: Rich not here deferred until next meeting. Ordinance # 877 (Amending wards and terms): Dick Meister: stet.
