General Code Review Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesday July 22nd, 2025, 7pm Town Hall, Ogden Dunes Member Present Member Present Jim Slawinski, Chair, 2026 X Mimi Ramos, 2027 X David Hollar, Sec, 2025 Doug Cannon, TC Member X Eric Fried, Co-Chair, 2027 X Mike Shaefer, 2025 X Richard Hassan, 2026 X Meeting called to order – 7:05 pm with Jim S. taking minutes Approval of Minutes of the May 27th, 2025, meeting – By unanimous consent Old Business : Prior Ordinance Recommendations: Jim discussed the one remaining ordinance waiting for Town Council Approval that involves the time limit for placement of political signs. He also reviewed the July list of General Recommendations submitted to the Town Council. Membership: GCR Committee Membership will remain same for now although recommendations for new members to the GCR Committee are encouraged. Town Council Meetings: Continue to recommend every GRC member to try to attend a Town Council meeting when possible. Shore Drive Speed: Two speed bumps have been installed along Shore Drive. There have been very few residential comments and/or complaints as of recently. The two speed bumps will be removed at the end of the beach season. There are no plans to install any additional speed bumps this year. Traffic Concern: Jim mentioned the two areas in town that still require striping. He also mentioned that a second electronic speed sign is ordered and will be installed on Hillcrest where the original sign was located. New Business: Junk Cars: There was a lengthy group discussion involving what can be done involving junk vehicles. The existing ordinance clearly defines the definition of a junk vehicle but there was some concern involving anyone entering private property, especially when a vehicle is covered. Rich H. pointed out that the existing “nuisance” ordinance does allow the Town Building Commissioner to enter private property when a “nuisance” exist. Rich H. and Eric F., with possibly the help from Dave H., will review the current ordinances to see what changes will be required. 1  New Resident Information: Jim S. shared with the group the document that is given to new residents in our town. The original document was very detailed, well worded but did need some updating. The committee members, along with the Town Council President, made some additional recommendations and changes to the document, and the goal is for the GCR Committee to present a final revised copy to the Town Council at the September Town Council Meeting.
