PAGE 1 OF 2 0 o1~ .~jllage· · CHRISTMAS VILLAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING Minutes of the regular meeting of the Christmas VIllage Advisory Committee held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 4:00p.m. at the Ogden Public Ways and Parks Conference Room, 133 West 29th Street, Ogden, Weber County, Utah Members Present: CraigBiehk Stephanie Grundte Errne Terrazas Ashley Wilson LouAnn Kamigaki Cindi Hellewell Diane Nelson Brenda Burrup Andrew Garcia Sub Committee: Maralyn Mazza Members Absent: Stephanie Billings Ken Ritz Sandra Tuck Nicole Lovell Ex-Officio Stacey Olsen, Public Services, PrOJect Coordinator APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Biehk called the meeting to order and asked for a motion to approve the minutes. Ms. Kamigaki motioned to approve the minutes from September 28, 2017. Ms. Hellewell seconded. Committee approved OPENING CEREMONY Mr. Bielik informed the committee that we are moving forward with the new ceremony. We will have the ceremony advertised m the paper and on social media Mr. Bielik said he would make a flier and Ms Olsen will print them. Mr. Bielik asked how the float looked. The committee all felt it looked great. Mr. Terrazas said he will add a few more hghts on it. Ms Olsen suggested possibly looking at the float this spring, fixing it up a little and entermg the Pioneer Days Parade. Ms. Olsen asked the committee members if they had anything special for the script that the announcers at the Holiday Electric Light Parade say The committee said whatever she comes up with will be fine. BREAKFAST~THSANTA Mrs. Katmgaki sat.d she and Ms. Lovell are planmng a visit Wlth all the sponsors next week, one more time Make one more visit Wlth them to be sure they are Ms. Mazza and Ms Lovell would like to make some skirts for the elves to wear. Ms. Mazza presented a couple design options with cost estlmates Ms Burrup suggested we make simple felt aprons for them to wear. Boy and girl elves will have somethmg to put on The cost would be less than $50.00 The committee discussed the designs and prices. Ms. Wilson made a motion to make felt aprons for the elves. Ms. Grundie seconded Committee approved. PAGE 2 OF 2 November 14 @ 6pm- Mr. Bielik reminded everyone that is the meetmg the City Council and Mayor will present a proclamation to the Wiggill's. He asked everyone to please attend and show support and wear your Christmas hoodie We will have a meeting right before the Council meeting November 21 @ 9am- We will meet at the Christmas Store in the Village. All the committee members will walk through the cottages and make sure they all are decorated. November 24@ llam- Walk through the cottages one last time and decorate any that are not done. November 25 -Opening Ceremony and parade- more mformation to come. OPEN DISCUSSION Mr. Terrazas has found a way to get more power to the Breakfast Exchange Club. Ms. Mazza told the committee that she IS deaf and she reads lips. She has a hard time followmg the conversations sometimes, but Will do her best. Mr. Bielik said the Ogden Regional Cottage is almost complete. Mr. Garcia asked how to get tables for the Breakfast with Santa. Ms Olsen said to bring her a check made out to "Ogden City's Christmas Village" and she wtll get It reserved NEXT MEETING The next meeting for the Christmas Village Advisory Committee is Tuesday, October 26, 2017 at 4:00pm. The meeting location IS the Ogden Public Works Building, 133 West 29th Street. ADJOURNMENT With no further business to discuss, Ms. Kamigaki motioned to adjourn, motion seconded by Ms. Hellewell. Committee approved.
