Member Chris Stegen seconded, and all voted in favor. Updates and Events: • Fathers Day Event: June 16 at 11 30am There has been a scheduling conflict With the annual Weber Nutntion BBQ and our annual BBq bemg scheduled on the same day We are still domg our event with Stampede and It will be a catered event Staff IS lookmg at different catermg optiOns and the cost will be $3 Joyce suggest to have people pay ahead when they sign up • Member Survey: Reported by Marqae Martmson GHS created a survey to find out what the favonte events of the year are and which classes are enJoyed the most New class optiOns were also listed to see mterest levels The pool room IS not gettmg much use We are encouragmg people to use It and are lookmg at other options 1fnumbers don't Improve Cha1r suggested that 1f worse came to worse to take a table out and add somethmg ltke Wu Bowlmg Golden Hours currently has two tvs and Xbox Kmects available m exercise room Marqae Martmson satd she would get a "How To" class set up to teach people how to work the Kmects V1ce Chatr stated that he enJoys wu bowhng and 1t 1s a good actiVIty for people to do With limited ab1ltty • Overview of Upcoming Events: o May 12 Mother's Day Mamcures o May 19 BBQ o May 29 Closed for Memonal Day o June 9 Talent Show • Practice on Thursday, June 8th o June 16 Father's Day BBQ and Stampede o June 21 F1rst Day of Summer Outdoor Ukulele BBQ o July 4 Closed for Independence Day o July 20 Semor Prom • Theme Casmo N 1ght Mmutes of the Regular Meetmg of the Golden Hours Semor Center Advisory Committee held on May 10, 2017, m Ogden, Utah oJuly 24 Closed for Pioneer Day o September 14 Health Fa1r and Flu Shots • Summer Hiatus: Chns Stegen mot10ned to take a summer hiatus with returnmg to regular scheduled meetmgs on September 13th All voted m favor Weber Human Services Report: Paula Pnce was not m attendance However, she sent an update which was presented by the Advisory Committee Secretary Shred Events will be held on June 6, at Northview, June 7 at Morgan, and June 9 at Roy The State has asked for help m Identlfymg Centenanans who will be mvited to the Govemor"s Recogmt10n event and will receive a certificate and a lapel pm May IS Semor Corps month where the RSVP, Semor Compamons and Foster Grandparent volunteers will be recogmzed May IS also Older Amencan's Month The theme IS ·'Age Out Loud·· It emphasizes the ways older adults are hvmg theu hves With boldness, confidence and passiOn while servmg as an mspiratwn to people of allo ages Today, Agmg IS about ehmmatmg outdated perceptiOns and hvmg the way that smts you best Paula also reported that she IS currently workmg on year-end reports and budgets New Business: • Staff mtroduced the new 4-week well ness challenge There ts a booklet sized trackmg chart, which lists exerctses and goals for each exetctse It takes approximately 4 mmutes to accomplish all exercises Other goals mcluded drmkmg water, checkmg blood pressure and eatmg frmts and vegetables Jeanme IS rampmg up her exercise classes A more mtense class bemg held at 9am and a low tmpact class will be held at I Oam Monday, Wednesday and Fttdays Old Business: • None Comments: • VIce Chair Nmd stated that he was happy that the tree nearest the south walkway was replaced • Next meeting will be Wednesday, September 13, 2017@ 12:30 p.m. Adjournment: • Chmr asked for a Motiop_.to.{ldJourn Motion to adJourn until September 13 was entered by Carol Hartmann All voted m favor The meetmg was adJourned at 1 10 p m ) ;;~~ /,__./"'/I / ~ ; \ I I I ) • l.
