Art Stroll - Update- Lone Buckley • Van sessrons and Gallery 25 had a good turn out and went well at The Monarch • Relatrve Truth at Eccles was good and drfferent The v1deo display went well and rs strll runnmg • The Ogden Uncon and Kaffe Mercantile both had slow mghts We need more foot traffic out there • December's st10ll, weather pcrmrttmg should have a good turn out With Chnstmas Vrllage lrghts commg on • Mayor Awards 111 the Arts- Lone Buckley • Lone sa1d the event had 1ts challeng111g moments 111 regards to food, awards etc • Feedback about the event some say rt went well and was good on tune Others sard maybe shorten b1os because 1t was repet1t1ve 111 vrdeos and speeches The food was cold and better last year • RecommendatiOn was to have a short 111t10duct10n, longer vrdeo w1th the 111format1on and speech • Possrbly 111v1te previous board members, nom111ees and other locals who are rnvolved 111 the arts , -... • It was mentioned that there were no members of C1ty Council present Next year 1t was suggested to see 1fthere can be at least one representative present • Pub1c Art- Lone Buckley I subcommittee • The votmg for the Nme Ra1l ProJect IS underway and all votes are due by Thursday, November 15 • Approval for the wrapped boxes IS still bemg worked on A wntten perm1ss10n has been ok'd but wa1tmg for a finalized agreement • A new 1ocat10n for art was suggest on Grant near the parkmg structure • For the C1ty Council's third floor the stairwell and wmdows are the best opt1ons for the area It IS best to leave the art call open • Lone sa1d there IS a work sessiOn today w1th C1ty Council about the Monarch proJect • Arts Grants- Lone Buckley • Everythmg has been approved and checks went out There have been a couple stragglers who have not responded to ema1ls/calls for release of funds • Lone IS already workmg on prepanng the next cycle m January wh1ch w1ll close on March 15, 2019 There w1ll be a grant workshop at the end of January and begmnmg of February for anyone to attend • It was brought up as to how the breakdown of money can be spht for grantees A mathematical formula that could be put mto place to make 1t fa1r for everyone (Ex There were some scores that were low and had a h1gh percentage or 100 ofthe1r fundmg granted) • Susan Campbell sa1d she would look mto formulas that maybe useful to use for this next cycle • Museum and Arts Day on the Hill- Lone Buckley • The Museum Day IS January 29 and Arts Day IS February 21 on the h1ll lfyou a1e available to show up please do to thank the leg1slature for the funds available m the arts • Nme Ralls Creative D1stnct Meet1ng- Lone Buckley • There IS a standmg meetmg each month on every 2nd Tuesday of each month at d1fferent locations startmg at noon • Committee Blog- Regma Esparza • Everyone has submitted the1r blogs and they are sent to the Standard Exam mer each week Once the Nme Ralls D1stnct has the1r s1te up 1t w1ll be posted on a section there and on the c1ty s1te once 1t IS updated • It was mentiOned that volunteers are still needed for the Ogden Electnc Parade & smgers for the amphitheater durmg the week 111 December • Update from D1vers1ty Comm1ss10n- Taylor • It was approved to change the name of24111 Street to Martm Luther Kmg and Caesat Chavez Street • To make the change fundmg ts needed for th1s to happen, so a GoFundme account has been made So far $4k has been 1a1sed out of the $12,500 needed • It was suggested to see 1f 1t could be parttally pa1d for th10ugh the pubhc art gtants Per Lone 1f tt 1s mcorporated m to an art proJect 1t posstbly could 1f appt oved by the c1ty , • Committee News and upcommg events • DeJa- She IS wrappmg up the semester at Weber State Umversity and workmg With Greenwood Charter School on piOJects For November's art stroll she IS did a pop-up performance With her dancers that was success on the corner of25 111 and Washmgton • Mzke- The Orchestra does not have any performances until January of 2019 Their last concert m September was a success He IS leavmg for a conference and will be workmg on grants to help fund his staff • Susan- The Next Ensemble has two peiformances commg up that are famt!y fnendly on December 9 They wt!l be at the Bigelow Hotel at 4 p m and 7 p m They are lookmg for volunteers to help usher for the evenmg • Russ- They have started sellmg tickets for Ogden Uncon There have been about a couple hundred sold, all from out of state VISitors New celebntres have been added mcludmg one that wrll hopefully do a panel at the Tree House Museum They also have their brllboards up and a contest for those who take photos and submrt to wm free trckets He said every art stroll he has new art and cosplay rtems up • Jess- They have a New Year's Eve celebratron at the Umon Statron commg up It rs a black tre event that wt!l feature the rarlroad museum The Wmter Market registration closes on November 15 and wt!IIun from mrd-January to February • Nestor- 0-Town has a Chnstmas sale cormng up on December 3 at Greenwood Charter School • Cam- He wrll be a guest at the next Art+ ActiOn talk The officral day, locatron and tune rs still yet to be determmed He mentroncd that hers Interested m feedback regaidmg proJects that he would lrke to possrbly start One was a quarterly art magazme about arts & culture m the area Another was a portrart proJect at the Argo House or Copper & Vrolet The last rtem was to have a quarterly dmner that would be 111vrte only to network rdeas for the area A chef would be on hand as well as music enterta111ment The rnvrtes would change each tune to get more people 111volved Contact hun for Ideas, feedback, etc • Shane- The Yetr Bash preparatrons are underway for the I 51 Fnday m February there rs a chance the locatiOn will be changed He wt!l be announcmg at the Electnc Paiade next Saturday They arc plannmg for the 150111 Sprke event 111 May and plan on brrng111g a musrcal to the Egyptian Theater • Brandon- Van SessiOns may be open 111 February at The
