• Welcome and Call to Order – Jake McIntire
• Approval of August Minutes
o Motion to approve – Camille
• 2nd motion – Shane
• Día de los Muertos Ogden Event Presentation – Jeremy Shinoda
• Details about the event were brought up, Saturday, Oct 8th at Ben Lomand High School
from noon – 10 p.m. A collaboration with OFOAM and the School district. Live mariachi, dance
groups, Ben Lomand Bag Pipers, vendors, food trucks, car show, and lots of activities.
• There is a scholarship component to help students in need, through DACA, 1st Gen and
Tech programs.
• Mayor’s Awards Nominations – Final Selections – Lorie Buckley
• Lorie went over the list of winners and then each category was gone through. Leon and
Deann were sent to an outbreak session since they were both nominated. It was discussed as to
which categories they would like to move forward with. Once it was determined then a few
changes were made as to where the honorees fit in the categories that they were nominated in.
The mayor will now approve the honoree list of names and then they will be contacted by email
to see if they would like to accept the award.
• Discussion about membership numbers – voting process – Lorie
• Lorie said there is an at-large seat open on the committee that needs to be filled.
• Gina will post on social media with a deadline for anyone interested to fill out the
application. Then it will be discussed at the next meeting to see whom they would like to move
forward with.
• Marshall White Center – new options – Jake McIntire
• There is a $5k allocation for the mural however Jake recommended that something like
billiard panels that exist in downtown SLC would be a good option. It was said that the MWC
could possibly be in construction mode by May 2023. The piece could be both a visual and
literary art piece. A QR code could be generated that would offer more information.
• Money is needed to spend, and projects need to be looked at. Gateway Signage is being
worked on by ODA. Lorie will put Jake and Jessica Marin on in the email to see maybe abut a
collaboration for the MWC project.
• Sub-Committees
• Executive – Jake McIntire
• No update
• Nine Rails Creative District – Leon Araujo
• Leon said he started a new thing for the art stroll by having photographers come
out and take photos throughout the night.
• Literary – Jan Hamer
• Jan is hoping to have Angelica have poems and videos that can be used on the
Dumke Arts Plaza screen. Maybe also do a call for submission to have a small stipend for
artists to submit their work too. Lorie said Lydia Gravis from the WSU Shaw gallery is
activating the screen. It would be good for Jan to reach out to her to work that out.
• Jan mentioned she is receiving the AHA Award from Weber State and there is a
reception next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in case anyone would like to go.
• Public Art – Jake McIntire
• It needs to be decided where the public art fund money can be allocated as far
projects go.
• The BRT opened at WWSU with no art on it due to a fabrication issue. A third
column was added to the art and will need to be adjusted. All stations are currently under
construction.
• Arts Grants – Shane Osguthorpe
• Shane will put a meeting together before Thanksgiving for the grants committee
and executive committee to go over items for next year. Lorie mentioned a grant software
she is looking into to hopefully help the process.
• Lorie said she wants to collect photos and short stories from each grantee to
possibly highlight on social media. It was brought up to bring back Arts on The Town.
Another idea was to have each grantee come to a meeting and explain how their project
went.
Committee Info:
• Brandon said he is now a professional podcaster. He said to check out Van Session on
YouTube with the help of Ogden Grant money he was able to do it.
• Camille said Good Company Theatre has their Putnam Spelling Bee event from

Muertos event at Union Station on October 29th.
