Virtual Zoom Meeting • Welcome and Call to Order – Jake McIntire, Chair • Introduction of new Committee members • Reviewed Mayoral approval process for new Committee members • Approval of December Minutes • Motion to approve – Susan Campbell • 2nd motion – Todd Oberndorfer • Arts Grants Update – Lorie Buckley • Arts Grants application portal testing underway • Open application period will be January 27 through February 24, 2023 at 4pm MT • Two virtual Grant Application Workshops will be held January 26 • Workshop will be mandatory because of new application process • Diversity Commission Representative – Jake McIntire • OCAAC Diversity Commission representative Shane Osguthorpe will be stepping down • Virtual Commission meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month from 4pm- 6pm. • Camille Washington currently serves as the OgdenCAN representative • OgdenCAN update to be provided next month • Dumke Arts Plaza Reopening – Lorie Buckley and Gina Esparza • Discussed opportunities, programming, and dates for a Plaza reopening event • Suggested funding opportunities to support artist presentations during this reopening • New Committee Member Update and Seat Assignments – Lorie Buckley • OCAAC Seat Assignments • Joel Kitamura recommended for the Arts Education Seat • Sam Gappmayer recommended for an At-Large Seat • Jessica Marine recommended as the Ogden Downtown Alliance Liaison • Todd Oberndorfer recommended to transition to the Visual Art Seat • Discussed process for voting members to recuse themselves if they are involved in a proposed OCAAC project • Sub-Committees • Executive – Jake McIntire, Chair • Conducted audits on the Art and Culture Master Plan and the Nine Rails Master Plan • Nine Rails Creative District – Leon Araujo • Literary – Jan Hamer • Railtown Readings event to be held on Wednesday • The Ogdenite will be hosting an author review • The Happy Magpie is selling books online and in print • Poet Laureate Angelika Brewer will launch her “Love Letters to Ogden” initiative next month • Public Art – Jake McIntire, Chair • Discussed project opportunities at Lester Park, Keisel Avenue, the Marshall White Center, and the Lollipop Project • Discussed Ogden City sign and mural ordinances ▪ Ordinance is overseen by the City’s Planning Department • Barton Brierley, the new Ogden City Planning Manager, will be invited to a future meeting • Update provided on OGX murals • Arts Grants – Lorie Buckley • Overviewed the application and grant review process • Arts Grants Review Panelists should expect to review 10-13 grants each ▪ New Committee members invited to serve on Arts Grants Review Panel • OCAAC Executive Committee has final recommendation of grantees • Committee Info: • Recent publicity for Ogden artists/arts organizations: • Van Sessions received a write up in the Salt Lake Weekly • Hyperallergic article mentioned Ogden Contemporary Arts, Gallery 25, and Salt Lake Arts Center  •Southwest Contemporary has an article featuring a project at Ogden Contemporary Arts written by María del Mar González-González • Recent Salt Lake Weekly article mentions The Ogdenite • R.
